- No server uploads
- Free forever
To convert HEIC to PDF, drop your iPhone photos into the box above, put them in order and tap “Create PDF”. Each photo becomes a page in one shared PDF, with no detour via JPG. The conversion runs on your own device, with no server upload. Free, with no account and no limit.
How to turn HEIC photos into a PDF
Choose your photos
Drag your HEIC or HEIF files into the box above or tap “Choose photos”. The first time, your browser loads the HEIC decoder once, then the photos appear in the list.
Set the order
Use the ↑ ↓ arrows or drag and drop to put the photos in order. The first photo becomes page 1. Tap “Add more files” to add photos.
Set up the page
Choose A4, Letter or “Fit image”, the orientation and the margin. Under File size, “Smaller” makes the PDF lighter, for example for email or upload forms.
Create and save the PDF
Tap “Create PDF”, then “Download PDF”. A single photo keeps its original name, for example IMG_1234.pdf. Several photos go into images-merged.pdf.
When do you need this?
Sending photographed paperwork
You took photos of a contract, invoice or form with your iPhone. As a PDF, everything arrives in one file, in the right order, and opens and prints anywhere.
Applications, authorities, insurance
Portals often require a PDF and reject HEIC. Turn the photos of certificates, ID or damage straight into a PDF and upload it.
Handing in homework and notes
Photographed several pages from a notebook or whiteboard? As one PDF they upload to school and university platforms in one go, instead of photo by photo.
Photos for a Windows PC or printer
Windows and many printers don't know HEIC. Any computer opens a PDF without extra software and prints each page cleanly on A4.
One PDF or separate JPGs: which fits when?
HEIC is the iPhone’s photo format. Many portals, Windows PCs and printers can’t open it. You have two good options: put all photos into one PDF, or save each photo as a JPG.
A PDF keeps several photos together in a fixed order and is the standard for paperwork. Separate images are better when someone wants to view, edit or add the photos to a gallery. That’s what HEIC to JPG is for.
| Feature | One PDF | Separate JPGs |
|---|---|---|
| Several photos | One file, fixed order | Many files or a ZIP |
| Upload portals | Usually required for documents | Usually allowed for photos |
| Printing | Pages on A4 or Letter | Each image on its own |
| Editing | Not really meant for it | Easy, in any program |
| Typical use | Documents, applications, receipts | Sharing, gallery, social media |
Good to know
- No detour via JPG: You don’t have to convert the photos first. The tool reads HEIC directly and puts each photo on its own page. A PDF can’t hold HEIC itself, so each photo is stored inside it at high JPG quality.
- Original or Smaller: “Original” takes the photos at full resolution, only very large shots above 16 megapixels are brought down to 16 megapixels. That’s plenty for printing. “Smaller” scales each photo to at most 2,400 pixels on the long side. Enough for screens and A4, and the PDF gets much lighter.
- Portrait and landscape mixed: With orientation “Auto”, each photo gets a matching page: portrait photos upright, landscape photos sideways.
- Location and date stay out: The PDF contains none of the photos’ metadata, such as GPS location or camera model. Good when you send the PDF to strangers.
Tip: Got screenshots (PNG) or images from the web (WebP) as well as HEIC? With Image to PDF you can mix all formats in one PDF.
Good to know: When you pick photos straight from your iPhone’s library, iOS sometimes converts them to JPG by itself. The tool accepts those JPGs just the same, and the result is identical.
Troubleshooting
Why is my file rejected?
The tool accepts HEIC and HEIF photos, plus JPGs from the iPhone. For PNG, WebP and other formats, use Image to PDF, which handles all image formats mixed together.
One photo can't be read. What now?
Usually the file didn’t copy completely. The message names it, and all other photos still land in the list. Copy that photo from your iPhone again and add it with “Add more files”.
The PDF is too large for email or an upload. What can I do?
Tap “Edit”, set File size to “Smaller” and create the PDF again. Your photos and their order stay as they are.
A photo is sideways on the page. Why?
The orientation is set to “Portrait” or “Landscape” for all pages. Set it to “Auto”, and each photo gets the matching page orientation.
Preparing the photos takes a long time. Is that normal?
HEIC photos are decoded one by one, so many photos or 48-megapixel shots need a while. The loading spinner keeps turning until everything is ready. Keep the tab open, and on a phone split large batches into several PDFs.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. The file itself is never sent to a server, never stored and never seen by us. Close the tab and it is gone from memory.
You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools (F12), switch to the “Network” tab and start the conversion. Your file does not show up as an upload. What you may see are page resources and, if you agreed to them, ads or statistics.
FAQ
Is converting HEIC to PDF on Filemanta free?
Yes, completely. There's no daily limit, no cap on the number of photos, no watermark and no subscription. You don't need an account either.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photos are combined into a PDF in your browser on your own device and never sent to a server. That matters for IDs, contracts and other private documents.
Can I combine several HEIC photos into one PDF?
Yes, that's exactly what the tool is for. Select as many photos as you like, set the order and create one PDF. Each photo becomes a page.
Do I have to convert HEIC to JPG first?
No. Pick the HEIC photos directly and the tool does the rest. The detour via JPG that many other services require isn't needed.
Will I lose image quality?
With “Original” you won't see a difference: the photos are embedded at full resolution and high JPG quality. With “Smaller” they are scaled down, which you'll hardly notice on screen or on an A4 print.
How do I convert HEIC to PDF on an iPhone?
Open this page in Safari, tap “Choose photos” and pick your pictures from Photos or Files. Then tap “Create PDF” and “Download PDF”. You'll find the PDF in the Files app under Downloads.
Can I select or search the text in the PDF later?
No. The photos sit in the PDF as images, even if they show text. Everything stays readable and printable, but the text can't be copied or searched.
How do I turn the PDF back into images?
With the Filemanta PDF to JPG tool you save each page as a separate image again, also with no server upload.
