To convert SVG to PNG, drop your SVG files into the box above, pick a size and tap “Convert to PNG”. Because SVG is a vector graphic, the PNG is drawn fresh at the size you choose and stays sharp, even at 4000 pixels. The background stays transparent or turns white. Free, with no server upload.

How to convert SVG to PNG

  1. Choose your SVG files

Drag your SVG files into the box above or tap “Choose images”. Add as many as you like, for example a whole set of icons.

  2. Pick a size

“Original” keeps the size written in the file. 1000, 2000 or 4000 px set the longer side, and the shorter side follows in proportion. For print and presentations, 2000 px is a safe choice.

  3. Choose a background

“Transparent” keeps see-through areas, ideal for logos on coloured backgrounds. “White” fills them, handy for programs that show transparency as black.

  4. Convert and save

Tap “Convert to PNG”. One file downloads straight away, several come as a ZIP or one by one. The name stays: logo.svg becomes logo.png.

When do you need this?

Logos in Word, PowerPoint and Google Slides

Google Slides and older Office versions don't accept SVG. As a PNG, your logo goes into any document and looks crisp on the projector.

Profile pictures and social media

Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and most profile uploads only take pixel images. A 1000 px PNG fits everywhere.

Email signatures

Many email programs don't show SVG images. A small PNG logo appears reliably in Outlook, Gmail and on phones.

Icons for apps and websites

App stores, CMS uploads and favicon generators often ask for PNG in a fixed size. Convert your icon set in one go.

SVG vs. PNG: what's the difference?

SVG describes shapes, lines and text as drawing instructions. That’s why it can be scaled to any size without getting blurry, and the files are often tiny. Not every program can open it, though.

PNG stores fixed pixels, losslessly and with transparency. Almost every program, website and phone shows it. If you have a PNG logo and need a vector file instead, go the other way with PNG to SVG.

Good to know

  • Which size should I choose?: 1000 px is enough for screens, profile pictures and email. For slides and print, 2000 px is a good fit. 4000 px suits large prints. The file grows with the size.
  • Fonts in the SVG: If an SVG uses a font that isn’t on your device, the browser falls back to a similar one. For exact text, convert the text to paths in your design program first.
  • Linked images are not loaded: Images that an SVG only links to via a web address aren’t loaded, for security reasons. Images embedded in the file are drawn as normal.
  • Large sizes on iPhone: On iPhone and iPad, Safari can process images up to 16 megapixels. 4000 × 4000 px fits exactly; anything larger is brought down to that limit.

Tip: Need a smaller file instead of transparency? PNG to JPG shrinks your PNG afterwards. Several graphics in one document: PNG to PDF.

Good to know: Animations and scripts in an SVG don’t run when converting. You get a still image of how the graphic looks when it first appears.

Troubleshooting

My PNG is tiny. Why?

With “Original”, the PNG takes the size written in the SVG, and icons are often only 24 or 32 pixels. Choose 1000 or 2000 px and convert again. “Edit” keeps your files selected.

The text looks different from the original.

The SVG uses a font that isn’t installed on your device, so the browser uses a substitute. Install the font, or convert the text to paths in your design program and export the SVG again.

Parts of the graphic are missing.

The missing parts are probably images the SVG only links to on the web. Browsers don’t load those in image files. Embed the images in your design program, then export again.

The background is black in another program.

That program shows transparency as black. Choose “White” under “Background” and convert again.

My file is reported as unreadable.

The SVG is damaged or incomplete, or it is a compressed SVGZ file. Open it in your browser to check. If it shows there, export it again as a plain SVG and try once more.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. The file itself is never sent to a server, never stored and never seen by us. Close the tab and it is gone from memory.

You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools (F12), switch to the “Network” tab and start the conversion. Your file does not show up as an upload. What you may see are page resources and, if you agreed to them, ads or statistics.

FAQ

Is converting SVG to PNG on Filemanta free?

Yes, completely. There's no limit on files or size, no watermark and no account. You can convert as many SVGs as you like.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser draws the SVG on your own device and saves it as a PNG. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters for unpublished logos and client work.

Does the PNG stay sharp?

Yes. The SVG is drawn fresh at the size you choose instead of enlarging a small image. That keeps edges and text sharp, even at 4000 pixels.

Does the transparent background stay?

Yes, with the default “Transparent”. If you'd rather have a white background, choose “White” before converting.

Can I choose any size?

You choose the longer side: the original size, 1000, 2000 or 4000 pixels. The shorter side follows in proportion, so nothing gets squashed.

Can I convert several SVG files at once?

Yes. Select as many as you like, for example a whole icon set. You get them together as a ZIP or each one separately.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, on iPhone and Android in all current browsers. Pick the SVG from Files or your downloads, convert, save. No app needed.

Can I also convert SVG to JPG?

Convert to PNG here first, then turn the PNG into a JPG with the PNG to JPG tool. The JPG gets a white background, because JPG can't store transparency.
